JAlbaniaZZ Society is a project that presents the community of jazz musicians in Tirana. This project finalized under this Sigel has already begun to start about 15 years ago with concerts, recordings, workshops and TV shows with Albanian artist collaborations that do not live in Albania. Interesting is that the musicians in this group circulate and the project always comes in varied forms, some time smaller and sometime bigger. Mostly the music we present is JAZZ strongly supported with Albanian motives. Rhythm, melody and expressivity are the main characteristics of Albanian JAZZ. It is worth to mention the participation in almost all the JAZZ festivals organized in Albania from 2003 onwards. As the core of this group are: the multi instrumentalist Ermal Rodi, Emiljano Dhimo drums and Gent Rushi leader band piano, accordion, composer & arranger. Some of the most successful collaborations are those with: Elina Duni vocal Switzerland, Ervin Dhimo bass USA, Rona Nishliu vocal Kosovo, Eda Zari vocal Germany, Ilir KRYEKURTI percussion Switzerland, Orges Toce vocal & guitar Austria ….. Etc. Big Band with the same name (JAlbaniaZZ Society) has been part of several jazz projects in Tirana and beyond. Created some time ago by some JAZZ experienced musicians and talented young people, has made several successful concerts. Big Band has a rich repertoire of this genre (Blues, Funky Latin, Swing ….. etc.) and rearranged Albanian music.
